We start with a single point. It has no shape, no sides, no dimensions. Alone it indicates a position in a system.
A second point can be used to indicate a separate position in a system, but it too is of indeterminate shape and size.
The first dimension is created when we link these two points together, creating a line. An object in the first dimension has length only, no width or depth.
Creating another line adjacent to the first, we enter the second dimension. An object here has a length and a width but no depth.
A third dimensional object has a length, a width and a depth. It’s the easiest for us to imagine as it’s the dimension we live in.
The fourth dimension can be described as time, or more accurately, duration. If we imagine our object at a particular point in time, then imagine it at another point, an hour later, the line we could draw between the two would be a line in the fourth dimension. Also occasionally your seat shakes and water sprays in your face.
The fifth dimension contains every possible timeline of a single dimension. Think Sliding Doors ×1000.
The sixth dimension is hats. So just imagine if everyone was wearing hats. All the time. That’s the sixth dimension.
The seventh dimension has a laugh track. And a different popular song plays at the end of every episode. Like in Scrubs. Or Cold Case.
The eighth dimension is when you’re very tired and you’re not really paying close attention to what’s going on and you think you heard someone mention something about the space time continuum but you’re not really sure so you just kind of nod and smile and hope it doesn’t matter too much.
The ninth dimension is the fourth circle of hell. That’s the one concerning greed, where everyone’s pushing around giant weights for whatever reason. Also this is the dimension where science and religion cross-over. Like in The DaVinci Code.
The tenth dimension is when you have a dream and you were there and you were there and you were there… Generally people you saw or thought about recently are in this dimension doing things that are generally connected to your life in what seems like quite a straightforward way that’s in no need of further analysis.
The eleventh dimension is time ×2. So if you were listening to a voice note on ×1.5 speed in this dimension you’d actually be listening in ×3 speed. People generally just stick to the ×1 speed. Which is ×2 speed in this dimension — so, still understandable.
The twelfth dimension is like the sixth dimension but there’s twice as many hats. Everyone has two hats on their head in this dimension.
The thirteenth dimension is unlucky for some. But not others. For others it’s totally fine. So basically just a regular dimension with no difference in the amount of luck people have. And everyone’s wearing hats.
The fourteenth dimension is the Final Destination dimension. Everyone dies in this dimension in increasingly elaborate ways.
You appear in the fifteenth dimension after you die and wait there while your previous life is assessed by a panel of multi-dimensional beings. Based on their final judgement you will be reborn into one of the other fourteen dimensions in a new form. Most likely wearing a hat.
